报告摘要:Symmetry is a central topic in modern fundamental physics, both in quantum physics and relativity. For gravitational interaction, the Lorentz and parity symmetries are two fundamental symmetries in general relativity. However, the violation of both the Lorentz and parity symmetries can arise from a lot of quantum theories of gravity, including string theory, loop quantum gravity, and Horava-Lifshitz gravity. Thus, it is important to test the symmetries of gravity in experiments and observations. In this talk, I will focus on the violation of the parity symmetry in gravity. I will briefly review several parity-violating gravities and their possible implications in solar system experiments, binary pulsars, and other astrophysical observations. In addition, I will also discuss our recent works on testing the parity violation in gravity by using GWs.
朱涛,浙江工业大学理学院教授。2010年6月毕业于兰州大学理论物理研究所,曾任美国贝勒大学 CASPER研究中心助理研究教授(2013-2017),浙江工业大学讲师(2010.07-2012.08),副教授(2012.09-2018.12),教授(2019.01-至今)。目前主要研究兴趣包括:(1) 引力波物理及引力检验;(2) 引力理论的太阳系实验与天体物理效应等。截止目前发表论文100多篇,被国内外同行引用近3000次。主持科技部国家重点研发计划引力波探测专项课题,浙江省自然科学基金杰出青年基金,和国家自然科学基金面上项目等多个科研项目。
